The Washington Redskins have signed a former Eunice High School standout, who went on to also star at LSU.

The 25-year old Simon, who was released by the Seattle Seahawks following the opening week of the 2016 regular season, was claimed off waivers by Arizona, where he played nine games this season.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Simon had been active just twice in the last six weeks for the Cardinals.

After a fantastic prep career at Eunice High, Simon played at LSU from 2010-2012, foregoing his senior season as he entered the NFL Draft.

The Seahawks selected Simon in the 5th round of the 2013 NFL Draft with the 138th-overall pick.

Seattle placed Simon on the reserve/physically unable to perform list, as they went on to win Super Bowl XLVII.

The Seahawks would return to the Super Bowl the next season, with Simon appearing in Super Bowl XLIX, after appearing in 10 games with Seattle in 2014.

In parts of three seasons in the NFL, Simon has appeared in 20 games, while compiling 19 tackles, to go along with one interception.
