Moments after Joe Alleva's resignation was official, reports surfaced of Scott Woodward signing on as the new Athletic Director at LSU.

Woodward, a Baton Rouge native, returns home after spending the last 4 years as AD at Texas A&M.

Prior to his time with the Aggies, Woodward was AD at the University of Washington from 2008 to 2015.

From 2000 to 2004, Woodward served at LSU as the liaison between the university and government and corporate officials.

He graduated from LSU in 1985, then worked as a political consultant and legislative liaison in and around Baton Rouge.

Per his bio on Texas A&M's website, Woodward has a clear vision for attaining success.

Woodward’s vision for success centers on three primary objectives:

1. Graduate student-athletes

2. Provide an unmatched student-athlete experience

3. Win championships with integrity.

Billy Liucci of TexAgs.com was the first to report Woodward's agreement to become LSU's AD.

Woodward replaces Alleva, who resigned from the position today, but will remain at LSU as special assistant to the president for donor relations.
