The permanent Lafayette restaurant is still under construction with no official opening date in sight, but the popular Louisiana favorite has announced it is bringing its food truck to Acadiana this weekend, giving hungry locals their first chance to experience the menu without leaving town.

Roul's Is Officially Coming To Lafayette This Weekend

In a social media announcement that immediately got fans talking, Roul's Deli revealed its food truck will be in Lafayette on Sunday, August 9, from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m.

The truck will be parked at 2201 Johnston Street (the site of their future location), and the excitement from the restaurant was impossible to miss.

"Lafayette! We are so freaking excited to meet y'all! LET'S FREAKING GOOOO! SHARE SHARE SHARE... WE WANT TO SEE A LINE!!!!!"

After months of anticipation, it's the first official opportunity for Lafayette residents to get their hands on Roul's famous menu without making the drive to another city.

A Welcome Surprise After A Delay

Earlier this week, Roul's shared an honest update about the progress of its long-awaited Lafayette location.

The company explained that while it originally expected construction to begin quickly after announcing the project in October 2025, unexpected challenges slowed the process.
