Saints Rookie Granderson Gets First Career Sack – Does Worm To Celebrate [Video]
Saints rookie defensive end Carl Granderson had his celebration dance already scripted.
He felt good going into this game, and knew that when he made a big play, he was going to break out the worm in celebration.
His chance came in the fourth quarter when the Bucs were facing a second and 10 from their own 39 yard line. Granderson broke through and got to quarterback Jameis Winston.
"I didn't realize I was that close to the quarterback. I ran the running back over. And it just was so fast in the heat of the moment," said Granderson.
After the sack, Granderson had his chance. And he took it.
He gave his performance of the worm a 10/10, but some of his teammates ragged on him a little bit.
"That’s gotta go on somebody’s Not Top 10," Jordan said, adding, "First of all, I get that he's a 2000 kid. Almost, maybe '99, '98. But the worm is usually a rocking motion. I was like, 'Bro, you're doing push-ups.'"
Fellow rookie defensive lineman Shy Tuttle said, "I can't believe he did that."
That didn't deter Granderson from future performances of the worm. "I'm gonna work on it," he said with a smile.
