The New Orleans Saints are adding a linebacker to their roster on the first day of free agency.

The Saints are signing former Carolina Panthers inside linebacker A.J. Klein.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

The 25-year old Klein replaced the injured Luke Kuechly during week 10 of last season and went on to compile 29 tackles, including 16 solo stops and one sack.

A native of Appleton, Wisconsin, Klein played his college football at Iowa St., where he was the Big XII co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2011, before being selected by the Panthers in the 5th round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

In 60 career games, including 23 starts, Klein has accumulated 93 tackles, including 4 sacks.

Klein is a still young player, with a big upside, and looks to be a good signing by the Saints.
