Saints Sign Mike Gillislee
The New Orleans Saints have added another running back to their roster.
To make room on the roster for Gillislee, the Saints placed veteran running back Shane Vereen on injured reserve.
A native of DeLand, Florida, Gillislee played his college football at Florida, prior to being selected in the 5th round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins.
The 5-foot-11, 210-pound Gillislee played one season with the Dolphins, before appearing in five games for the Buffalo Bills in 2015.
The 27-year old Gillislee had his best season in 2016 with the Bills, gaining 577 yards, to go along with 8 touchdowns.
In the 2017 offseason, with Gillislee a restricted free agent, New England signed him to a deal the Bills didn’t match.
Last season, Gillislee compiled 383 yards and five touchdowns with the Patriots, prior to being released on Saturday.
In parts of four seasons in the NFL, Gillislee has accumulated 1,248 rushing yards, to go along with 16 touchdowns, while catching 16 passes for 94 yards.
