Saints Trade Chris Ivory To New York Jets
Chris Ivory
The New Orleans Saints traded running back Chris Ivory the the New York Jets on Friday night, in exchange for a fourth-round pick, the number 106-overall, in the 2013 NFL Draft.
The 25-year old Ivory made the Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2010, and spent three season with the organization, rushing for 1,307 yards, and 8 touchdowns, on 256 carries.
The best season that Ivory had with the Saints was his rookie campaign, back in 2010, when he rushed for 716 yards, and five touchdowns, on 137 carries.
Ivory was somewhat expendable because the Saints already had a crowded backfield, which includes the likes of Mark Ingram, Pierre Thomas, and Darren Sproles.
The Jets were looking to replace Shonn Greene, who signed as a free agent with the Tennessee Titans.
Ivory, who signed a one-year, $2 million tender withe the Saints last week, is expected to sign a long term deal with the Jets.
