Saturday Hit and Run Crash Kills 1 in St. Martinville

Lousiana State Troopers say a St. Martinville man suffered fatal injuries in a crash on Saturday involving the ATV he was riding and another vehicle. The driver of that other vehicle is currently being sought by police after that driver left the scene of the crash.

Troopers say Jamaal Anthony James was riding his ATV on LA 31 near Big Apple Lane about 7:30 on Saturday night. At that time James' vehicle was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle. The force of the impact forced the ATV into a roadside ditch were James was ejected. He was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
