Area Schools Close Due To Threatening Conditions [UPDATE]

Some area schools are closed Monday and Tuesday due to the threat of icy conditions in Acadiana. 

KATC reports that all public schools in Evangeline Parish as well as Sacred Heart and Little Giraffe's will be closed Monday, February 23 and Tuesday, February 24 because of weather.

All schools in Avoyelles and Rapides Parish will be closed  Monday and Tuesday as well.

There is a good chance of rain in the forecast for both Monday and Tuesday, and some areas mainly north of I-10 could see ice accumulation. We will continue to monitor the conditions early this week and we will keep you up to date on any more closures.

UPDATE:

Lafayette Parish public schools will be closes Tuesday. All sporting events scheduled after 6pm tonight are postponed.

Family Life Christian Academy in Lafayette will be closed Tuesday.

All four locations of Sugar 'n Spice and Vacation Station in Lafayette Parish will be closed Tuesday.

Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy in Youngsville will be closed Tuesday.

Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy in Lafayette will be closed Tuesday.

Principal's List Preschool  will be closed Tuesday.

Youngsville Christian School will be closed Tuesday.

Ascension Episcopal School's three campuses will be closed Tuesday.

Creative Learning Preschool & Childcare Center in Lafayette will be closed Tuesday.

Over The Rainbow Daycare will be closed Tuesday.

Little Miracles Child Development Center will be closed Tuesday.

Close to Home Daycare will be closed Tuesday.

St. Landry Parish public schools will be CLOSED on Tuesday. St. Ignatius in Grand Coteau and Family Worship Christian Academy will be closed Tuesday. Plus, Westminister Christian Academy in St. Landry Parish will be closed this Tuesday. Schools of Sacred Heart Grand Coteau are close Tuesday too.

Calcasieu Parish public schools are also closed Tuesday.

Northside Christian School will be closed on Tuesday Feb. 24, 2015.

St. Francis School in Iota will be closed Tuesday.

Jeff Davis Parish public schools are closed Tuesday.

LSU-Eunice will be closed Tuesday.
