Several Report Flu-Like Symptoms After Mardi Gras Ball

Several people have reported suffering from flu-like symptoms after attending a Mardi Gras ball in Louisiana.

According to KPLC, the ball was held this past weekend at a casino in Lake Charles. The Louisiana Department of Health has issued a statement saying that they are aware of the situation and that they have initiated an investigation.

This report comes amid as world-wide concerns develop over the Coronavirus, which was first reported in Wuhan, China. As of right now, over 20,000 people are said to be infected by the Coronavirus, and over 400 deaths have been attributed to the disease. There has been no connection made between the symptoms out of Lake Charles and the Coronavirus.

The casino released a statement in regards to the reported illnesses, stating that they are aware of the reports and that they are fully cooperating with state agencies.

If you visited L’Auberge du Lac in Lake Charles over the weekend and are showing flu-like symptoms, seek medical attention and contact the Louisiana Department of Health.
