Lafayette Police Investigate Homicide After Shooting on Justin Street

The Lafayette Police Department (LPD) is investigating a homicide that occurred in the 400 block of Justin Street. Just before 7:30 p.m., LPD officers responded to reports of a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, officers immediately began life-saving measures until paramedics arrived. Despite their efforts, the male victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A crime scene was established, and investigators were called to gather evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The victim's identity has not yet been released, as authorities are in the process of notifying the next of kin.
