Eight Children Killed In Shreveport Mass Shooting, Suspect Dead After Police Chase
SHREVEPORT, La. — A devastating mass shooting in northwest Louisiana has left eight children dead and several others injured in what authorities describe as a domestic-related incident.
According to Shreveport Police, officers responded early Sunday morning to reports of gunfire in the 300 block of West 79th Street near Linwood Avenue. When they arrived, they discovered a scene that investigators now say involved multiple victims, most of them juveniles.
Authorities confirmed that ten people were shot. Eight of those victims, all children, died from their injuries. Their ages range from 18 months to 14 years.
Additional Victims And Injuries Reported
Two adult women were also shot in the head but survived the attack. A young boy was injured after jumping from a roof in an apparent attempt to escape the violence.
Police later identified at least two additional connected crime scenes nearby, including a residence on Harrison Street. Investigators believe all locations are tied to the same incident.

Suspect Killed After Police Chase
After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene in a stolen vehicle, prompting a police pursuit that crossed into neighboring Bossier Parish.
According to Louisiana State Police, officers pursued the suspect into a residential neighborhood on Brompton Lane. During the chase, three officers discharged their weapons, killing the suspect.
Investigators say the suspect may have intentionally driven into that neighborhood due to a personal connection to someone who lived there.
Investigation Ongoing, Domestic Motive Suspected
Authorities say the shooting appears to be domestic in nature, though details about the relationships between the suspect and victims have not yet been fully released.
At one point, more than 30 police units were on scene as investigators worked to secure multiple locations and gather evidence.
Officials continue to piece together the timeline of events and have not released the suspect’s identity.
