Solange has been selected as the Harvard Foundation's Artist of the Year.

The Harvard Foundation is dedicated to exploring intercultural and race relations, themes explored on Solange's Grammy-winning 2016 album, A Seat At The Table. The entire project is a study on pain, blackness, power and resiliency, which is especially apparent on standout tracks like "Weary," "Rise," "Mad," "Don't Touch My Hair" and "F.U.B.U."

On the latter she sings hauntingly about cultural appropriation, "get so much from us, then forget us."

Her subsequent live performances have been nothing short of breathtaking, artistic and gorgeous in execution. Beyond her album, which has become a cultural touchstone since its release, Solange has been busy showcasing the depth of her talents.

She directed the video for SZA's "The Weekend" and earlier this month appeared in a fashion campaign for Helmut Lang.

As for the Harvard Foundation award, Solange is set to receive the award on March 3.
