Star Wars, Chewbacca Actor Peter Mayhew Dies

The family of Peter Mayhew announced that the man behind Chewbacca in Star Wars has died at his home surrounded by family.

Mayhew passed away on April 30th. He was 74.

He originated the role that made him famous, and continued to play Chewbacca in Star Wars (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), Return of the Jedi (1983), Revenge of the Sith (2005) and The Force Awakens (2005).
