ST. MARTINVILLE--Police say they've secured a warrant for the man they accuse of firing the bullet that pierced the wall of a head start school and nearly wounded a student.

That shooting happened on Wednesday on Theater Street.

Davontae Gardner is accused of firing the shot during a dispute between two families. After the bullet pierced the school's wall, it struck a child's lunch plate and shattered it. No one was injured in the incident.

Gardner is facing multiple charges in connection with the shooting, including seven counts of aggravated assault, one count of negligent injuring, and one count of aggravated criminal damage to property.
