Many things that are now big no-nos were some of the things that got me excited to start school.

While certain back-to-school trends are universal, some are uniquely Louisianan. Here are a few highlights.

For the protection of children getting dropped off of school buses, the State Police and the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development are reminding you of the various conditions on when to stop.

The Lafayette Police Association has partnered with St. James Baptist Church to put on tomorrow’s Back to school Bash.

Figures show that the average person ends up spending $688.62 on their children.

Members of the Hot Crew were back on the UL Campus today to take part in the annual "Block Party" hosted by the University as a way of saying Welcome Back to all of the students. The event was held on St. Mary street this year, and seemed very promising---until the skies opened up over the campus.

Hot 107-9 and Meche's Donut King in Broussard teamed-up on Tuesday morning and delivered donuts to UL students waiting for the bus at Cajun Field. We showed up at Cajun Field at 8am with 10-dozen donuts and served donuts to those students waiting for their ride to campus.

It's that time of year again...Back-to-School. Yup, summer vacations are winding down and schools are re-opening their doors to kids from all around Acadiana. And with a new school year comes cute photos of kids leaving for their first day of school

For a kid, there may be nothing more depressing than the first advertisements for back-to-school sales, which remind them that their summer vacation won’t last forever. The only thing more depressing for parents may be the cost of sending their little ones back to a new classroom.
