The federal government has declared five more parishes in Louisiana eligible for disaster aid as a result of Hurricane Delta. Those parishes are Beauregard, Lafayette, Rapides, St. Landry and St. Martin.

If you live in a Parish that has been designated for FEMA assistance as a result of Hurricane Laura, time is quickly running out.

It's only been two weeks since Hurricane Delta came rumbling through southwest Louisiana and many of you are still looking for ways to make necessary repairs to your home and property.

The mobile centers will operate at two locations in Acadia Parish through Saturday evening.

President Donald Trump has declared a major disaster exists in the State of Louisiana, opening up for federal funding to be made available for portions of the state hit the hardest by Hurricane Delta.

The wheels are now in motion that could start the flow of federal money and assistance into areas affected by Hurricane Delta.

FEMA will open drive-thru assistance centers for residents of Beauregard and Acadia parishes tomorrow.

The drive-thru assistance and mobile registration centers should reopen tomorrow, weather permitting.

Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) put out a press release on September 18th that details their FEMA flood rating has improved. For property owners in Lafayette Parish who have flood insurance thorough FEMA, that means a five percent drop in their premium for next year's policy renewal.

The center will open at the LSU AgCenter building on West Port Street on Thursday.

Three new parishes can now apply for federal disaster assistance for uninsured and underinsured damage and losses resulting from Hurricane Laura. Those parishes are Caddo, La Salle and St. Landry.

While the rebuilding process always seems to be a frustrating one after major storms, the heaviest hit parts of Louisiana are slowly getting back on its feet post-Hurricane Laura.

If you bought a generator, chainsaw, or other storm-related equipment it might be eligible for reimbursement according to FEMA.

Many of those affected by Hurricane Laura in Louisiana are seeking the assistance of FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency).
