Governor Jon Bel Edwards

An attempt at recalling the Governor of Louisiana, Jon Bel Edwards, has fallen flat. According to reports, less than 1% of the signatures necessary to force a recall election have been submitted.

Governor Edwards announced during his press conference that individuals between the ages of 55-64 with one or more health conditions will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine starting on February 22, 2021. This move will also include teachers and support staff working on-site at K-12 schools as well as daycare staff.

Governor Edwards announced the Phase 3 guidelines for Louisiana at a press conference today. He later went to Twitter to deliver more information on his announcement and also is urging people to be realistic as Phase 3 may be where Louisiana stays until a vaccine is widely available.
