Mayor Latoya Cantrell of New Orleans was asked again at her press conference today about the Saints welcoming fans into the Superdome for upcoming home games. Cantrell noted that Tiger Stadium, "Could be a great place, temporarily" when referring to the Saints potentially taking their home games to Baton Rouge.
Reports by NFL insiders are saying that Saints officials are meeting with LSU officials about hosting upcoming games in Baton Rouge at Tiger Stadium. These talks come as Mayor Latoya Cantrell has continued to decline Saints requests to allow fans in the Superdome.
Mayor-President Josh Guillory of Lafayette has a solution for the New Orleans Saints not being able to have fans inside of the Superdome for home games. He has offered the Saints and the NFL the option to host Saints home games in Lafayette at Cajun Field if Mayor Cantrell will not allow fans in the Superdome.
