A sad situation unfolded in Louisiana Monday night when a woman was struck and killed.

A tragic accident claimed the life of a 65-year-old man while he attempted to clear debris from the road.

This is the first fatality to be investigated by Louisiana State Police Troop I for 2022.

The driver was given a sobriety test at the scene, and troopers say no impairment is suspected.
