Power Outage

If you're wondering why you're the only one on your street without power, you aren't alone.

Almost 100,000 Louisiana residents are still without electricity two and a half weeks after Laura's landfall.

Hundreds of thousands of customers were brought back online over the weekend, still, many more remain without power this morning.

The power was out for several hours for several thousand electric customers in Southwest Louisiana.

Several schools in St. Landry Parish will be closed today due to ongoing power outage issues in the area.

Cecilia Primary, Cecilia Junior High, and Arnaudville Middle Schools dismissed early today because of that power outage.

Freezing temperatures have postponed tomorrow's planned power outage for some Jeff Davis Parish residents.

The planned outage is so crews can make repairs to a substation on the electric grid.

The outage is planned for 10 PM tonight so that repairs can be made to a substation.
