A food service director has been charged with theft after allegedly stealing $1.5 million in food, mostly chicken wings, over the past three years.

St. Landry Parish superintendent Patrick Jenkins says the viral photos of pitiful-looking school lunches aren't telling the whole story.

The original deadline to apply for the program was June 15. However, the state has announced they are re-opening the process.
