Students from several Acadiana Parishes will be going to their first classes of the new school year this week.

Iberia Parish has the majority of their students starting this week.

Lafayette Parish Schools Superintendent Pat Cooper says schools in Lafayette opened today, but only "for students who can get there safely." Now, we can report that schools throughout the parish are closing early.
