As if Golden Globes, SAG Awards and a role in Black Panther weren’t enough, Sterling K. Brown’s banner 2018 is adding another honor. The This Is Us star will make his SNL hosting debut in March, flanked by Charles Barkley and Bill Hader.

The bizarre subculture of dime-store Christmas movies seems oddly pervasive this year, and has not gone unnoticed at SNL. The “Not Ready for Primetime Players” have at least one more gift in the form of a cut short, featuring host James Franco in an endless stream of indistinguishable Hallmark Channel classics.

Now that David Pumpkins’ animated Halloween special is behind us, SNL is looking forward to November. Two more hosts have joined the coming weeks alongside Larry David, including a Girls Trip favorite, a promotion for Chance The Rapper and more.

Much as we saw last season, SNL took time at the top of the show to address a major tragedy with song. Watch this weekend’s cold open, as Las Vegas singer Jason Aldean pays tribute to lost lives with a special acknowledgement for Tom Petty.

We knew changes were coming to SNL Season 43 after the departures of Vanessa Bayer, Bobby Moynihan and Sasheer Zamata, but these additions are real buzzer-beaters. Ahead of Saturday’s premiere, SNL welcomes Heidi Gardner, Luke Null and Chris Redd to the series, with more than double as many writers.

In all the talk of SNL Season 42's breakout year and political impressions, poor David Pumpkins seems like a world gone-by. Tom Hanks briefly resurrected the character for the finale, but the actor might now be teasing a full return in Season 43. Any questions?

Alec Baldwin’s Trump may be back for SNL Season 43, but Melissa McCarthy’s Sean Spicer is another matter. The actress won an Emmy portraying the ousted Press Secretary, who himself now tells Kimmel the bit was at least “kinda funny.” Will she share the gold in return?

As SNL brings its summer Weekend Update to a close, we have our first official Season 43 host. Hide your replicants, as Blade Runner 2049 star and returning guest Ryan Gosling will host the late September premiere, joined by an iconic New York musical guest.

SNL will have missed out on a lifetime of news by the time Season 43 premieres this fall, but Weekend Update is doing its best to catch up. And who better to sum things up than beloved former anchor Tina Fey, who drops by to stress-eat over the weekend’s events, and scream into some cake?
