Target Recalls USB Charging Cables Due To Shock And Fire Hazard

Heyday 3 - foot lightning cables are being recalled after customer reports.

The CPSC reports that Target is recalling Heyday 3 Foot Lightning USB charging cables available in purple, green, and blue iridescent with 'heyday' printed on the cable’s connector. Model number 080 08 8261 is printed on the side of the packaging.

Consumers are urged to stop using the cables and immediately return them to Target for a full refund. Fourteen reports of cables smoking, sparking, and even igniting were received by Target in addition to two reports of burned fingers.

The cables were sold at Targets nationwide and via the store's website.
