After serving the Lafayette community with finger-licking barbecue flavors for three years, Tchoup’s MidCity has announced a temporary closure to embark on an exciting renovation journey.

Nestled at 117 South College Road, Tchoup’s MidCity is not just a local restaurant but also an amazing smokehouse. They have successfully been at the forefront of introducing both locals and visitors to a solid variety of delightful flavors. But the heart of MidCity is now set to experience a short pause in its operations beginning on September 4, to bring forth an enhanced dining experience.

In a recent Facebook post, the restaurant indicated that patrons would soon witness modifications both inside and outside the establishment. While these changes surely promise a refreshing new atmosphere, fans of the eatery are most curious about the upcoming changes to the menu. Tchoup's gave a sneak peek into the upcoming menu alterations, ensuring that new items will "impress". However, they also hinted at the possibility of certain beloved dishes fading away.

Todd Trahan voiced his excitement in the comments, saying he was “looking forward to seeing the changes.” Meanwhile, Beth Thigpen’s loyalty remains with her favorite dish as she comments, “as long as y’all keep those Brussels sprouts, I'm happy.”

And speaking of favorites, sources have confirmed that the much-loved MidCity burnt ends are here to stay, along with a few other timeless dishes.

Management has expressed solid enthusiasm regarding the forthcoming changes. They assure that there are many intriguing details in store, which they will reveal as the renovation process reaches its conclusion.

The community is urged to remember that Tchoup’s MidCity is only taking a brief hiatus. Once they reopen their doors, Lafayette can look forward to a rejuvenated spot to “elevate good times”.
