Life is short, and sometimes it's the kindness of others that really matter in the end.

Terminally ill Pineville mother Monica Anderson wanted to see her son Landon graduate from high school, and thanks to Principal Karl Carpenter at Pineville High School, she got to do just that before she passed away. Monica was suffering from an aggressive form of brain cancer, and her last wish was to see Landon accept his diploma. Before Monica died on February 29th, she got to see her son in his red cap and gown accept in his diploma in the family living room, as she lay bedridden.

Her husband Robert Anderson told the Alexandria Town Talk "Monica's dream has been fulfilled. At 4:40 on Saturday morning, Monica passed away at home, peacefully, knowing that her son Landon ... she got to see her son Landon graduate from high school."

Monica was a nurse at Rapides Regional Medical Center, and you can read more about her journey here. #RIP
