Teyana Taylor's long-awaited sophomore album, Keep That Same Energy dropped last Saturday, June 23, but in a recent interview with "Big Boy's Neighborhood," the triple threat shocked fans when she said that the project was incomplete.

“Honestly, I think it was just more of a misunderstanding because Kanye know how much I been through,” she said. “The whole squad know how much I been through. So, I think it was more so of them making an executive decision of like damn, she been waiting for this moment. Let’s do whatever in this moment to make her happy, not realizing that I probably would have waited that [extra] week."

The "Do Not Disturb" singer also revealed that she was surprised by how much content was missing from K.T.S.E., which was produced by rapper Kanye West. Taylor signed to Yeezy's G.O.O.D. Music label through Def Jam Records back in 2012.

“Like when the album dropped, I didn’t even know that much stuff wasn’t cleared,” Taylor said. “So when the album dropped, and my friends woke me up like, ‘Yo, the album is out,’ I was excited. But, I was also like, ‘Wait, does that mean they were able to get everything cleared?’ It was really just an honest misunderstanding of me thinking maybe oh, some shit happened overnight.”

Almost immediately after the interview, a fan tweeted to Taylor, "So basically Teyana Taylor’s real album isn’t out" to which she replied, “Pretty much lol."

The completed version of K.T.S.E. is expected to be released within the next week.
