The French Press Restaurant Announces Second Lafayette Location

The French Press, a popular local eatery, announced it will be opening a second location in Lafayette.

After serving one-of-a-kind Cajun-inspired creations since 2009 in their original Downtown Lafayette location, The French Press will be bringing their chef-driven casual dining to another side of town.

James Beard-nominated Chef Justin Girouard and his wife Margaret have worked together over the past 14 years to deliver rich flavors to locals and visitors alike; becoming a staple in the heart of Cajun country.

If there was any "downside" to The French Press it would be that its popularity usually meant there would be a small wait, but even customers that braved the lines to enjoy their favorite menu items understood that "you can't rush quality" and the food was always "worth the wait."

Their offerings of brunch by day and fine dining catering services have been described as both modern and comforting, and now fans of The French Press will have a new location to enjoy their food—known for its fresh, high-quality ingredients and rich flavors.

The French Press made the announcement via social media, revealing that their second location will be at 3822 Ambassador Caffery in Lafayette, next to SkyZone.

The building was formerly occupied by Brick & Spoon—another restaurant that served breakfast and brunch options before closing in September 2022.

We've reached out to The French Press for more details on the projected opening date and hours at the new location. Based on their announcement, there don't seem to be any plans to close the original location at 214 E. Vermilion in Downtown Lafayette.
