As we count down to the final days of Christmas, I can't help but think back to my childhood years and Christmas.

Luckily, Santa was always able to bring my sisters and me what we wanted for Christmas. Often, he would go way beyond just our list for Christmas.

I can recall waking up on many Christmas mornings as kid and our living room was FULL. The excitement, I can't even put into words.

However, there was always that ONE GIFT that eluded me on my Christmas mornings. At the age of eight or so, I started to request that Santa bring me a real, life-size professional wrestling ring. Yes, I have been a fan that long.

Each year, I'd wake up and rush to the backyard, yet there was never a ring set-up for me on Christmas morning. We did however once get a trampoline and we made due. Still, it wasn't the ring with the mat, ropes, and turnbuckles.

Now that I look back on it, perhaps Santa knew what he was doing. I can't imagine how many visits to the Emergency Room my parents would have made with me had Santa erected a professional wrestling ring in our yard on Christmas morning.

Fast forward a few years to when I was in junior high school and the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) came to our gymnasium one night for a show.  This was a dream come true for me as I was able to help them set-up the ring up and actually play around in it too. Guess who booked the show at our school??? My mom.

So after all these years, I guess I really did get what I wanted for Christmas. Sometimes it just takes many years for you to recognize all the gifts that we are truly blessed with.
