Time Is Running Out for Hurricane Laura Victims To Apply for FEMA
Time is running out for Louisiana Hurricane Laura victims to register for FEMA assistance. If you need financial, temporary housing, repair or replacement to property, or rental assistance, now is the time to apply for help. First make sure your parish has been deemed a FEMA disaster area by clicking here.
If you've determined your parish qualifies for assistance from FEMA, apply for help now. Laura victims have a few options to get disaster relief, one of which is in person in Lake Charles. FEMA set up a recovery center in the parking lot of the Calcasieu Parish School Board, located at 3310 Broad Street. Residents can ask questions and submit information pertaining to their case files. Hurricane victims can fill out an application online at disasterassistance.gov or call 1-800-621-3362/TTY 1-800-877-8339. The deadline to register is October 27.
