Tony Robichaux Inducted Into LBCA Hall of Fame
Tony Robichaux, who meant so much to the Lousiana Ragin' Cajuns, as its longtime baseball coach, and to baseball throughout all of the state of Louisiana, was honored last weekend at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.
The Louisiana Baseball Coaches Association posthumously inducted Robichaux into the LBCA Hall of Fame on Saturday.
Robichaux, who died last July after suffering a heart attack in June, became the 11th person to be inducted into the LBCA Hall of Fame.
The LBCA also honored Robichaux by naming an award after him, the Tony Robichaux Ethics Award, which was presented to Lafayette High head coach Sam Taulli at the convention.
Robichaux, who accumulated more than 1,100 career victories, including more than 900 at Louisiana, was a head coach for 32 years, including 25 at UL, and 7 more at McNeese St.
