Top Anticipated Albums of 2011

We’re only eighteen days into the New Year and people are already looking forward to the new releases for 2011. Here's a list of projects from some of the biggest names in music that are scheduled for release sometime this year.

1.   Beyonce – TBD: Even though Ms. Knowles has kept quiet about the follow-up to 2008’s I Am…Sasha Fierce, we do know that she’s looking to reinvent her sound by working with Ne-Yo, Jim Jonsin and Sean Garrett. The singer told us about the direction of the project, which will be released sometime this year.

2.   Lil Wayne – Tha Carter IV:  While Weezy served his sentence for weapons possession inside New York's Rikers Island last year, he had time to write new material. Judging by his monster single, “Six Foot Seven Foot” with Cory Gunz, we know that the rap star is about to kill the game when he issues the follow-up to his recently released I Am Not A Human Being EP. And since his Young Money artists, especially Nicki Minaj and Drake, mean so much to Wayne, we’re sure that his project will boast several collaborations with his team.

3.   Drake – Take Care: You would think that Drizzy would be a little nervous to out-do the success of his platinum-selling debut, Thank Me Later. However, the Toronto native is confident in what he’s cooking up for his sophomore disc, which will definitely hit shelves this year.

4.   Kanye West and Jay-Z – Watch the Throne: The best of hip hop have come together to create a joint album that Yeezy recently said will actually be released in the coming days! Flo Rida and Jeremih sang their praises of how great Hov and 'Ye are

5.   Dr. Dre – Detox: At this point, we’re crossing our finger with high hopes that the producer, who has taken a decade to make his latest album, will keep his word and release the effort in February. We asked Bun B, Fat Joe, Gucci Mane and Bruno Mars if they believe it will come out and if they plan to buy it
