Town Of Mamou Floods Early Sunday Morning

The Town of Mamou is recovering from one of the worst floods in the town's history.

Mamou received several inches of rain in just a few hours early Sunday morning and many in the town were left without power for up to 12-hours.

Several homes and businesses, including the hospital, took in water and now many are recovering from the flood.

All schools in Mamou, and all in Evangeline Parish for that matter, are closed in Evangeline Parish on Monday. Students will return on May 2nd.
