19-year-old Liam McDuff is dead and two people have been arrested following a shooting on Sunday in the 3100 block of Sugar Oaks Road in Iberia Parish.

In a press release, detectives with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office say a 15-year-old male juvenile has been charged with Second Degree Murder and 18-year-old Richard Perez has been charged with Accessory After the Fact Second Degree Murder and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile.

Authorities say McDuff died in the hospital from a single gunshot wound.

It has been a joint investigation as the Louisiana Attorney General's Office, the 16th Judicial District Attorney's Office, Louisiana State Police, New Iberia Police, Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Department and Abbeville Police have assisted in the case, which continues with the possibility of additional charges.

Perez currently sits in the Iberia Parish Jail. The juvenile currently sits in a juvenile facility.
