Tyler, The Creator Clears Up Lyrics on “Garden Shed”
Tyler, The Creator finally released his anticipated Flower Boy album today (July 21), and fans are already spending their day breaking down all of the messages and lyrics. This past week, music critics got their hands on lyrics from the Odd Future founder's "Garden Shed" song, which many believed was him addressing his sexuality. It turns out that all of us have been mishearing the lyrics after all.
It was originally thought that the "Who Dat Boy" rapper was making a reference to Frank Ocean, which had fans questioning if he was confessing news about his sexuality on the track.
"Truth is, since a youth kid, thought it was a phase/Thought it'd be like the Frank; poof, gone/ But it's still goin' on," reports originally said about the lyrics.
It turns out that the lyrics are actually "Thought it'd be like the phrase: 'poof;' gone," and don't mention Frank whatsoever.
There are still a slew of other lyrics that fans have been questioning that could allude to Tyler's sexuality, but so far, he's kept us in the dark on the true meanings. The album seems to be receiving high praises from fans, music critics and social media. Flower Boy follows in the footsteps of the California MC's Cherry Bomb album from 2015.
