A viral clip from Tyrann Mathieu’s podcast is putting the New Orleans Saints under the microscope, with the former safety openly questioning how the organization is handling star running back Alvin Kamara.

Mathieu did not hold back, suggesting the team is not dealing with Kamara “in good faith” while also criticizing the lack of clarity surrounding his future. Kamara, the franchise’s all-time leader in yards and touchdowns, still has one year remaining on his contract, but the Saints have yet to publicly commit to his role moving forward.

Rumors Add Fuel To The Fire

Beyond contract uncertainty, Mathieu also referenced internal tension, claiming sources told him that some within the organization are unhappy with Kamara and believe he played a role in the firing of former head coach Dennis Allen.

That allegation has only intensified the conversation, especially given Allen’s long tenure and ties to the Saints’ defensive success. While nothing has been officially confirmed, the claim has definitely lit up comment sections across social media.

Kamara’s Comments Tell A Different Story

Meanwhile, Kamara himself struck a much different tone during a recent appearance on Terron Armstead’s podcast.

The five-time Pro Bowler expressed excitement about the team’s direction, praising offseason additions like wide receiver Jordyn Tyson and running back Travis Etienne.

He made it clear he is ready to work alongside new teammates and help build the offense under head coach Kellen Moore.

Kamara also highlighted his mindset off the field, discussing ventures in real estate, international business in Liberia, and creative projects including a film company. His message was simple: “I want more so I do more.”

Fans Rally Behind Kamara

Despite the controversy, fan reaction has largely leaned in Kamara’s favor.

Many supporters have pushed back on the criticism, with some saying if the rumors are true, it only strengthens their admiration for him.

Others have pointed to frustration during the Dennis Allen era, arguing that changes were needed.

What Comes Next For The Saints

With Kamara’s future still uncertain and public pressure mounting, the Saints now face a critical decision.

Do they commit to their franchise star and pair him with Etienne in a dual-threat backfield, or move in a different direction entirely?

This offseason storyline has quickly become one of the biggest talking points surrounding the Saints heading into next season, along with Cam Jordan's future.

Time will tell, and likely a lot sooner than later.
