Remember when preseason practice for college basketball teams would always begin on October 15?

Well, that's no longer longer the case, as most programs, both men's and women's, have been working out for more than a week now, including the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns.

So, while the old "Midnight Madness" preseason basketball practice celebrations are almost a thing of the past, there are still some great events to remind fans that college basketball is right around the corner.

Fans of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajun men's and women's teams will have a chance to get in on some preseason fun, and get a glimpse of the respective teams in the process tonight, with the UL Basketball Fan Jam, set for 7 pm at Earl K. Long Gym.

There will be plenty of fun events for fans to witness from the respective teams, including a skills competition, a three-point competition, and more, plus contests throughout the event for fans.

Admission is absolutely free, with food for everyone being provided.

The UL men will open their regular season schedule on Tuesday, November 5, when they host Loyola (New Orleans).

The UL women will begin their regular season slate two night later, on November 7, also against Loyola (New Orleans), at the Cajundome.
