Despite interest from several P5 programs, Louisiana Ragin' Cajun head coach Billy Napier and his staff aren't going anywhere.

In the last several weeks, Napier has been linked through multiple reports as a desirable candidate for the head coaching vacancies at Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and most recently Baylor.

However, Ole Miss hired Lane Kiffin, Napier canceled an interview with Mississippi State who eventually hired Mike Leach, and according to SI's Ross Dellenger, interviewed with Baylor, who is reportedly hiring LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda to be their next head coach.

Through it all, the UL athletic department has maintained the expectation Napier would remain head coach of Louisiana in 2020.

On our airwaves prior to the Lending Tree Bowl, Napier has stated he intended to remain the head coach at UL.

Today, the Ragin' Cajun athletic department released the following statement on Napier.

“Louisiana Athletics is thrilled that Coach Napier and his staff have begun preparations for the 2020 season, and we’re looking forward to continued success on and off the field under his leadership."

With continued success, he will remain a hot name in the coaching turnover cycle next offseason, which would mean another tremendous season at UL, something all Ragin' Cajun fans are both expecting, and hoping for in year #3 of the Napier era.
