UPDATE: Charges Filed In Transgender Woman Beating

Yesterday we showed you the video of a transgender woman being beaten by two teenagers in a Maryland McDonalds. Today, we can report that the two teenage girls have been charged in this assault.The charges come after the video was shown on National TV, and quickly turned viral on the internet. A rally was held late Monday night in support of the victim at the McDonalds location, and while she did not attend, many there to support her wished she had.

The woman beaten, 22-year-old Chrissy Lee Polis, says she was attacked because one of the teenage girls thought that she was talking to her man. However, the teenage girls told police that they attacked her because they thought she was a man trying to enter the female's restroom.

Vicky Thoms is the woman in the video that walks into the restaurant and asks the girls to stop beating Polis. She in the process was hit in the face too by the teenage girls. Since the attack, Thoms said her nerves are shot and she can't stop crying. She told her family about it, but they didn't understand how awful the situation was until they saw the video on television last week.
