Vermilion Parish Curfew Is Set

Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon says that he has decided on a parish-wide curfew for tonight.

Couvillon says, via press release, that the curfew for the parish begins at 6 o'clock tonight and will expire at 6 o'clock tomorrow morning, Tuesday, February 16.

There are still many areas were ice remains on our roadways through Acadiana. Overnight, those spots will freeze again likely creating hazardous travel in the overnight hours.

Sheriff Couvillon says should the curfew need to be extending into Tuesday, they will notify the media.

The curfew means that there is no travel unless it is an emergency or you are essential personnel.
