Congressman Clay HIggins' office will be holding a Veterans Clinic this week in New Iberia.

This is a chance for any veteran to get help from a variety of experts who will be present at the outreach event.

The following offices will each have a representative present at the event:

  • Congressman Clay Higgins
  • Attorney General Jeff Landry
  • U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Veterans Upward Bound at UL-Lafayette
  • Louisiana Workforce Commission

Navigating the services and benefits owed to veterans can be a daunting process.

There are plenty of services available that day including:

  • Being able to register for job search services
  • Applying for residence in a State-run veteran home
  • Filing or checking the status of a disability claim
  • Signing up for healthcare
  • Getting information about what medical benefits are available
  • Founding out about what legislation about veterans is before Congress

The event will be held on Wednesday, May 29 at the Gouguenheim Banquet Hall at 101 West Main Street in New Iberia.

Representatives of the various groups will be able to help veterans from 11 o'clock that morning through 3 o'clock that afternoon.
