A group of men, and children, were spotted cleaning up a roadway and it's ditches Tuesday afternoon in Lafayette Parish.

For the past week I have had my eye on the litter down Dugas Road in Lafayette Parish. I nearly pulled over one day to take a photo of the amount of litter in the ditches.

I didn't know what to do, but on Monday I convinced myself that it was time to call the parish and notify them of the problem.

Fast forward to Tuesday and there's a group of men, and a few children, picking up the litter down Dugas Road, located right off University. There had to have been 30-40 bags of TRASH they collected within just ONE MILE!! How sad, right?

I don't know who these men are, but I wanted to say THANK YOU!! They were in a silver van with writings on the door, but I could not identify who they are with. All that I know is that there was not one piece of paper left behind.

As sick as I have been since noticing the litter down this road, I was overcome with pride and joy when I saw these people picking up someone else's litter. They didn't have to do this, but they did!!!

And to those of you who feel the need to litter in our parish---Please stop!! We are all better than that!!
