Watch the 2014 Golden Globes Opening Monologue
"Welcome to the Tina Fey and Amy Poehler and Lee Daniels' 'The Butler' Golden Globes awards," chimed in the famous comediennes, who hosted the live awards ceremony on Sunday, January 12, for the second time. Having killed it with their hosting duties for last year's ceremony, the duo once again turned out some memorable jokes. Watch their full opening monologue from the 2014 Golden Globes awards right here!
As expected from Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, there were many moments from their monologue that warranted giffing, but one of their most memorable was from Julia Louis-Dreyfus. After running down some the biggest stars and starlets gracing everyone with their presence, the duo turned to the 'Veep' star, who was sitting at a table of movie stars (instead of the TV crowd) for her turn in 'Enough Said.' "Hi, Julia! Remember us? From TV?" remarked the duo, as the screen shot to Dreyfus smoking an e-cigarette and brushing off Reese Witherspoon's request for a selfie. If you need that in gif form, say no more:
Of course, where last year's quip from Poehler about Kathryn Bigelow's ex-husband, James Cameron, this year's top joke came right for 'Gravity' star George Clooney. Said Tina Fey of his role in the film, "George Clooney would rather float away in space and die than be with a woman his own age."
If you missed any of the other jokes, check out the video of the opening monologue above and below. Not to mention, Fey and Poehler will be back next year to host the 2015 Golden Globes!
