Rihanna’s sold out ANTI world tour kicked off its North American leg on March 12 in Jacksonville, Fla. and judging on the viral Instagram clips and fan feedback, she’s killing it. Her European Navy was hype because they were on deck not only to see Rih but Grammy Award-winning Canadian crooner the Weekend too, but according to Live Nation, he has suddenly backed out of the tour.

“Due to some unforeseen changes with upcoming projects, The Weeknd will no longer be joining Rihanna on her upcoming international ‘ANTI’ World Tour,'” the promoters said in a statement (via NME). Bummer.

The Weeknd, who recently shot the "Fly Shit Only" video with Future, tweeted about the change of plans. "it's my job to make music... not to convince you," he wrote. Rihanna originally announced that Abel and Big Sean would join her across the pond. Her “Bitch Better Have My Money” collaborator Travi$ Scott was also listed to rock out with her for the North American stops, but he has yet to hit the stage. Surprisingly, one artist who shared the stage with Rihanna was Drake, who she brought out in Miami to perform their No. 1 hit “Work.”

The pair even took time out to stop at the hospital to visit Megan, a Make-A-Wish cancer patient who is one of Rihanna and Drizzy's biggest fans.

The North American stretch of the ANTI tour continues Thursday (March 24) at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, MI. Minus the Weeknd, the European leg of the Anti World Tour begins in Amsterdam on June 17.
