Hanson says we've all been messing up "MMMBop" for the past 20 years and it's really bumming me out.

"MMMBop" was the first song I knew all of the words to, maybe because there's only, like, 20 different words in the entire song, but, still, that song is my childhood. Now Hanson is trying to tell me that I've been singing it wrong my entire life? My soul is a little crushed, but I guess if everyone else has been singing it wrong too then it's okay.

So, what exactly have we all been messing up since 1996? Syncopation. Yeah, I'm not sure any of us know what that is. Ok, I take that back, any of us who aren't musicians probably don't know what that is. But, according to Hanson even musicians are not up to the bands standards. Everyone from One Direction to Phish have covered "MMMBop" and, so far, no band has sang the syncopated chorus correctly.Taylor Hanson tells US Magazine "Someone needs to either make it totally their own in a genuinely unique way, or it needs to be a band that has a sensibility for old R&B, Fitz and the Tantrums could maybe do it."

Honestly, I'm just hoping musicians take this as a challenge and start making "MMMBop" covers, because I need more "MMMBop" in my life, like, now.

Now, excuse me while I go listen to "MMMBop" on repeat and relive the days when all the Hanson bro's had long hair and I was positive I would marry Zac Hanson.
