Evidently, the "Beyond" in Bed, Bath, & Beyond can now be defined as the "not too distant future" as shoppers of the once popular retail chain countdown the store's final days as a retailer. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in a New Jersey court over the weekend. Part of the filing includes the closing of all of the company's 360 Bed, Bath, & Beyond locations as well as 120 locations of BuyBuy Baby stores too.

The company noted on its website that the end was a lot closer than the beginning. The announcement read that " We have made the difficult decision to begin winding down our operations." It should be noted that in the bankruptcy filing made over the weekend, the company planned to keep locations open through the liquidation process.

During the liquidation process, it will not be business as usual, especially for shoppers who want to take advantage of the "20% Off Coupon". That coupon is a fan favorite among shoppers at the store but you can only redeem that coupon for savings if you shop and use it today (April 24) or tomorrow (April 25). The store will not take the 20% off coupon or any other coupon beginning Wednesday.

Items that are purchased before Wednesday can still be returned through May 24th according to the company's website. However, it should be noted that all sales after May 24th will be considered final. It should also be noted that stores will stop accepting gift cards on May 8th too.

According to reports, Wednesday is when the company will begin the process of offering "deep discounts" on much of its inventory as it prepares to shutter locations across the country.  Currently, there are five Bed, Bath, & Beyond stores operating in Louisiana. Those stores are in Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, Metairie, and Lafayette.
