Tributes Pour In For Jeanette Picard, Wife Of Former Lafayette City Marshal

Jeanette Picard, the wife of former Lafayette City Marshal Earl "Nicky" Picard, passed away last night. A heartfelt tribute was posted online this morning. She had been battling cancer, but her husband of 70 years summed it up by saying, "God brought my angel home..."

Jeanette was rarely far from his side during Picard's time serving as City Marshal. They celebrated their 70th anniversary with a vow renewal earlier this year at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Lafayette. It was the same church where they got married at the ages of 15 and 17.
