Woman Named Marijuana Pepsi Earns Doctorate
Calling Dr. Marijuana Pepsi!
A Wisconsin woman with an odd name has earned her PhD in higher education leadership from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee.
Marijuana Pepsi Vandyck, 46, handed in her dissertation on something that she might know a thing or two about. It is titled, “Black names in white classrooms: Teacher behaviors and student perceptions.”
There was no name change for Marijuana Pepsi. ACcording to The New York Post, it's her given name from birth. In fact, she refused to change her name because she was teased her whole life, even rejecting the nickname "Mary." The only reason she chose to use a different name at any point was as a real estate agent, she went by "MP" to stop marijuana lovers from stealing her signs.
The mother of one says she's never smoked pot and she doesn't drink soda.
She gives credit to her mother, who gave her the name, for making her a strong and balanced woman. In fact, the two proudly posed together at her graduation.
Congratulations to Dr. Marijuana Pepsi!
