TMZ Sports is reporting that one of my favorite professional wrestler's of all-time, Sting, is retiring from the ring.

The reports suggests that Sting, who is 56-years-old, is hanging up the boots due to a severe neck injury. Sting suffered the injury back in September when he was wrestling Seth Rollins at a WWE Pay-Per-View match.

TMZ reports that Sting will announce his retirement at the upcoming WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony in Dallas. That event happens the night before WrestleMania on April 2nd in the American Airlines Arena.

I met Sting once, when he was an up and coming star in the National Wrestling Alliance, and he was one of the nicest athletes I ever met. It'll be sad to see him leave the stage.

When it comes to professional wrestling icons, I put Sting up there with Hulk Hogan, The Rock, Steve Austin, Andre The Giant, and more. We'll never forget the "Stinger."
